The attached synthetic branch was created at SculptCad with 3D scanning and digital sculpting software. This installation required many technical steps to create the synthetic branch in order to specifically fit the trunk of this bonsai tree. The first step in the process required a scan of the tree's trunk and branches with a laser, which calculated its dimensions. Each leaf was then a 3D sculpted within the software, Once the digital file was completed it was sent to a lab and printed on a 3D Systems SLS printer. After the final print was generated the sleeve was secured and attached to the body tree.
